Coastal haven in the fastest growing county in NC
The Lakes is a 1,920-acre development located in the Town of Oak Island, Brunswick County, NC. Brunswick County is one the nation’s most robust markets for retirees. The community is directly adjacent to St. James Plantation, a 6,000-acre master planned community that has recently sold out of all developer product.
The Lakes will be a community of 950 residences and will feature the latest, most innovative and highly anticipated amenity available – the Crystal Lagoon®. Crystal Lagoons® are manmade, freshwater, sandy bottom lagoons with a state-of-the-art filtration system. Additionally, the Lakes will have several large lakes and a 1,200-acre nature preserve with walking trails, nature interpretive center and community farm.
All entitlements to develop the property are in hand. Construction is slated to commence in late fall 2019.
The Town of Oak Island is a beach town, separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. The Town boasts 65 public beach accesses on miles of sandy beaches, as well as fishing docks and piers, boat ramps and many other access points to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Davis Canal, making it the perfect location for fishing, boating, kayaking and other water activities. The Oak Island Nature Center has trails, plus displays on fossils and native animals. To the east, Oak Island Lighthouse has sweeping views over Caswell Beach and Bald Head Island.
